K. YAMAGUCHI obtained a Ph. D in veterinary medicine at the University of Tokyo. He began his career as a laboratory researcher with Tonen Corporation (a Japanese affiliated corporation of Exxon Mobil) in 1989. He passed the patent attorney examination in 2004. After working for a few years handling intellectual properties cases at the Advanced Life Science Institute, he became a member of Morita & Yamaguchi (the previous name of Morita & Associates) in 2005. His expertise includes extensive experience in prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications for gene-engineering, immunological, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and food, inventions, as well as trademarks.
